MUA Baked Merged Trio Eye shadow ‘Emotions’ Review

Hi Sweeties!

I am back with a review on one of the well known trio eye shadow from the brand MUA. Please do check my review to know if it won me over?

What the company says?

Get a perfect eye look with MUA’s 3 in 1 handy palette. Wear your favourite shade alone or follow our handy hints to achieve a dazzling look.
1. Blend & shadow your eyelid using the medium tone shade
2. Highlight from the socket up to the brow bone using the lightest shade
3. Define and line along the lash line using the darkest shade

Price: £3.00

My Take on this product:

Packaging: These shadows come in round pan packaging with a transparent see through cover which is convenient to check out the shades. Other information regarding the shade, quantity and details are mentioned at the back of the shadow pan. The packaging is not very sturdy and shadows might break during journey. A good quality foam tip eye shadow applicator is being provided with it.

Shadewise: There are three shades in trio eye shadow emotions.
-Copper gold shade- Great shade for the lid.
-Taupe brown shade with berry tones- If it was with sans the shimmers, then it would have made a great contour shade. Shimmer makes it pretty useless.
-Pearl gold- can be used as a highlighter and in the inner corners.

Pigmentation: All the three shades in Emotions trio are intensely pigmented. One does not need a primer to show up the colours. Even on my pigmented lids, these shadows showed up easily with one swipe.

Texture & Finish: All the shadows in this trio have shimmery finish. The shimmers are quite chunky and may not be a preference for many people. Texture of these shadows is comparatively compared to other baked eye shadows. It blends easily but gives massive fall out.

Longevity: Staying power of these shadows is very less with or without a primer. I get a maximum of 2 hours of wear time after a while it creases and there is massive fall out. During summers I faced horrendous makeup disaster with this product, eye makeup kind of melted in humid weather and shimmers were all over my face. Yuck!  :x

What I liked about MUA Baked Merged Trio Eye shadow ‘Emotions’?
-Shades are quite warm and suits my skin tone.
-Shadows are intense and look very pretty in person.
-Good for parties and functions.
-Good quality eye shadow applicator is being provided with it.
-Can be used dry or wet.
-These are quite affordable.
-Many trios with wide range of combinations are available.

What I did not like about MUA Baked Merged Trio Eye shadow ‘Emotions’?
-All three shades are very shimmery, containing chunky shimmers.
-Makeup with this trio kind of looks OTT, with no matte shade to complete the look.
-These are not easily available, only one can purchase from MUA site.
-These shadows have such disastrous fall out.
-I experienced huge fall out even with a primer.
-During summers, makeup gets messy and shimmers can be found all over the face. :p
-Shadows are vulnerable to damage during travel.
-Shadows crease easily with or without a primer.
-Staying power is 2 hours maximum.
-Contains parabens.

Will I repurchase it? I already have another trio chocolate box from this range. Apart from these trios I did not like other shades in other available trios. So I won’t be repurchasing them.

My Overall Recommendation: One can try this trio considering its price and shade range. However with this particular trio, I experienced massive fall out even with a primer. It contains huge chunky shimmers that might look OTT. You guys may try some other trio from this brand. I liked chocolate box trio much more than this one.
